⛪ Inside the Magnificent Mosta Dome ⛪

Stepping inside the Mosta Dome is every bit as impressive as its grand exterior. The vast interior is beautifully decorated with classical columns, ornate gold detailing, colourful frescoes, and a magnificent high altar, all illuminated by natural light from the enormous dome above.

Inspired by Rome's Pantheon, the church was completed in 1860 and remains one of Malta's architectural masterpieces. It is not only one of the country's largest churches but also one of its most important places of worship, attracting visitors from around the world.

The Mosta Dome is also remembered for the extraordinary events of 9 April 1942, when a bomb crashed through the dome during a wartime Mass but failed to explode. The survival of everyone inside is still regarded by many as the "Miracle of Mosta," making this church a place of both architectural beauty and remarkable history.
