🇳🇴 Lysefjord Rocky Island and Beacon

One of the many fascinating sights along Lysefjord is its collection of small rocky islands, shaped by glaciers thousands of years ago.

In this scene, a tiny white beacon sits atop a rugged island covered with pine trees, providing guidance to boats navigating the fjord's narrow waters.

Lysefjord stretches for 42 kilometres (26 miles) through the mountains of Rogaland and reaches depths of over 400 meters (1,300 feet) in places. The smooth granite cliffs and rocky islands seen throughout the fjord are the result of powerful glacial activity during the last Ice Age.

While famous for landmarks such as Preikestolen and Kjerag, Lysefjord is equally captivating in its quieter corners, where small islands, secluded coves, and untouched forests create a landscape that feels timeless.
