One of the most remarkable stories in Malta's history is remembered inside the Mosta Dome. Displayed in the church is a replica of the bomb that crashed through the dome during a German air raid on 9 April 1942.

As around 300 people gathered for Mass, the bomb pierced the roof and landed inside the church. In an extraordinary turn of events, it failed to explode, and everyone present survived. The incident quickly became known as the "Miracle of Mosta" and remains one of the most famous wartime stories on the island.

Today, visitors can see the replica bomb and learn about this incredible event, adding another layer of history to one of Malta's most iconic landmarks. Whether viewed as a miracle, a remarkable stroke of luck, or both, it's a story that continues to fascinate people from around the world.
