🇳🇴 Nordfjord Landscape, Norway

🇳🇴 Nordfjord Landscape, Norway

This stunning landscape showcases Nordfjord, one of Norway's longest and most beautiful fjords.

Surrounded by forested mountains, dramatic cliffs, and snow-capped peaks, the fjord was carved by glaciers during the last Ice Age and stretches approximately 106 kilometers (66 miles) inland from the Norwegian Sea.

The snow-covered mountains in the distance remain an important source of meltwater, feeding the rivers, waterfalls, and glaciers that define this region of western Norway. The combination of deep fjord waters, rugged mountains, and changing weather creates scenery that is uniquely Norwegian.

Located near the village of Olden, this area is also the gateway to Briksdal Glacier and Jostedalsbreen National Park, home to mainland Europe's largest glacier.
