Everyone says you should get up early when sailing into Olden to see the scenery at its best, and they are right.

This photo was taken at 05:10 as we sailed along Nordfjord towards Olden. The water was completely calm and the mountains were layered across the horizon, with some of the higher peaks still covered in snow. The early morning mist added to the view and made the landscape look even more impressive.

Nordfjord is one of Norway's longest fjords, stretching over 100 km inland from the coast. Olden sits at the eastern end of the fjord and is known as a gateway to some of Norway's most famous natural attractions, including the Briksdal Glacier and Jostedalsbreen National Park.

A very peaceful start to the day and one of the highlights of visiting the Norwegian fjords.
