This stunning scene looks acrossĀ Nordfjord, one of Norway's longest and deepest fjords, surrounded by towering mountains and snow-covered peaks.Ā
Carved by glaciers during the last Ice Age, Nordfjord stretches more than 100 kilometers (62 miles) inland from the Norwegian Sea, creating some of the most dramatic scenery in western Norway.
Located at the eastern end of the fjord, Olden is known for its spectacular natural setting and serves as a gateway to Briksdal Glacier and Jostedalsbreen National Park. The snow-capped mountains visible in the distance remain covered well into summer, feeding rivers, waterfalls, and glaciers throughout the region.
Nordfjord's combination of deep fjord waters, fertile valleys, glaciers, and alpine peaks makes it one of Norway's most diverse and beautiful landscapes.
